Kissed and kissed again - the Miraculous Icon of Tinos

Common for most religions is the belief that there are places where holiness dwells, holy sites to which people travel to meet the holy. The Greek Island ofTinos is such a place. The main cathedral is housing a miraculous Icon.  During the week of the Feast of the Assumption, on the 15th of August, pilgrimages and clericals from all over Greece come to the island to attend the feast and kiss the icon of Panagia - the Virgin.
