Ebel Es Saqi is a village in South Lebanon that lies near the border with Israel. Since 1978 United Nations peacekeeping troops have been based here, including a Norwegian contingent that stayed for twenty years. The people of Ebel are very hospitable, traditional and loving of their homeland despite of it being a place that has a fragile history and which has been under global influence throughout the years because of the UN. This is a story about what life in Ebel is like to the different people there: about struggles, how to deal with them and about the strong sense of a shared homeland.
