The Refrain of Locked Lenjs

Dammam is one of the folkloric musical instruments in southern Iran that has a basic relation with the jobs, joys, sorrows and diseases of the people.

They play this drum when they return victoriously from the sailing in Persian gulf, they play when they want to get rid of the diseases (Zaar), and they play when they are happy or they want to play a requim for something. There are also so many myths about it and Dammam lives in the folkloric stries of southern Iran. This film has a review abou ethnography of this drum through the traditions.
