Face Value

In the filming process of Face Value I created a research method of 'image on image'. I chose to look especially at wedding photos and videos in China.

Through the filming of images of those who engaged in making images that re-present them to an audience (for future memory) I try to deconstruct all these multiple images. I chose to look especially at wedding photos and videos in China. I did a lot of research and fieldwork before filming, and the whole wedding process was filmed for reference. I had intended to follow one couple through all the stages of their wedding, but because of delays I was obliged to film different couples for different stages of the wedding.
