The poor people forget
Lawali recounts his daily life, describing the hardships of a job which is his family's only option for survival. Yet, amidst the challenges, he maintains a profound respect for nature and traditional crops, with a commitment to preserving seeds for future harvests. Lawali is also very aware of important issues such as poverty and the ineffectiveness of the local political class. He emphasises that often the poor forget the promises made during election campaigns. Despite the continuous expropriation of Niger's natural wealth, Lawali and his wife are left only with the constant noise of loaded trucks traveling on the nearby road, day and night. However, hope persists in their hearts as they wish for a better future for their children through education. "Life is a dream, and dreams never end," reflects the enduring optimism in Lawali's outlook.
